Content Guidelines

LAprogress.info is a moderated forum that accepts submissions of articles and comments that are focused on the topic of how to pursue progress in the Los Alamos community. Our editorial perspective is that "our glass is half-full" rather than one of pessimism or cynicism, and that perspective is reflected in our choice of articles. We recognize that a moderated forum may be too limiting for some individuals and that this forum will not be a fit for all interests. In this case, we encourage the use of other forums and communication opportunities to supplement what we offer.

We are willing to consider all articles that present positive perspectives on how to make progress in Los Alamos that are well written, well thought out, and (as applicable) properly researched. Articles should be submitted by email to laprogress@laprogress.info and there should be a clear indication that the submission is a proposed article. Such submissions are generally reviewed on a weekly basis.

Comments in response to articles are best submitted using the “Comment’ function of the blog site. In the event that comments are submitted by email, we will do our best to connect them to the appropriate article and post them as comments attached to the article. Submitting comments via email will delay their review and publication. Comment submissions are reviewed for consistency with content guidelines and comments that are approved usually will appear within a day of submission. Email submissions of articles and comments are monitored less frequently and tend to be reviewed in batches, at least once per week.

For both article submissions and comments we will request that apparent factual errors be corrected prior to publication. We will decline to publish submissions that are off-topic, contain personal attacks, are related a personal conflict, or seem to us to be more rant than a positive perspective on progress. We try to not censor, but we also want to maintain a site that is respectful and promotes information and useful perspectives on the topic of progress in Los Alamos.
